During todays lesson we looked through the history of the internet and it origins and how various factors have contributed toward the internet that we know and use today. A task was set which involves each of us researching into more detail on a decade of the internet each, I have been set with the 'naughties', so 2000 up until present day. When we all collaborate our research together we will create a time line of the history of the internet in both physical form and an online form via our wikispaces page.
After this we had a quick session on Dream Weaver CS4 which is a program I have never used, this session enlightened me on the workings of websites and how much coding is used behind the face of a webpage. I found some aspects of the program a little difficult to use but it is something I am interested in and I hope to improve my skills over the coming weeks.

First Day

Strengths
I am capable with some Adobe software such as Indesign and Illustrator, and I am also capable of producing high quality illustrations by hand.

Weaknesses 
I have little knowledge on web design and how a website is put together, also the software which is required I have no experience using. I think a personal trait that may hinder me is I can find it hard to work at home as there are distractions.

Opportunities
I am looking forward to starting this unit as web design is an area of design which I have always been interested in, and gaining knowledge on the subject will help me judge whether or not it is an area of work which I may one day take onto a career.

Threats 
The biggest threat that I think stands in my way on this unit is my knowledge on web design software, and also being able to use the software at home where there will be no assistance from tutors.
